"We Pull Pork Naked"

Our slogan, "We pull pork naked" was concepted while dining at a local Mexican restuarant in Kenmore, WA. We were sitting in the bar drinking our favorite beer and talking about the upcoming BBQ season. We noticed the bartender's t-shirt, it said "I drink naked". After a few more minutes of talking BBQ and beer, the slogan just popped out, "I pull pork naked!". Swap, the "I" for "We" and it's all history. "We Pull Pork Naked" was born.

The Beerbque Name

Jeremy and Ryan knew they wanted to start a competition BBQ team, the only thing they were missing was a name. Just like our slogan, the name Beerbque was thought of while drinking beer and talking about BBQ. We love beer, we love barbeque. Put them together "beer barbeque", drop the "barbe", and "Beerbque" was born.

Our Smokers

We use the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker during all our competitions. The Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker (Weber Bullet or WSM for short) is a specialty grill made by the Weber-Stephen Products Company. It is specifically designed to produce barbecued meats cooked "low and slow" over charcoal and smoke wood. You can find more information about the smoker we use at the Virtual Weber Bullet site.


PNWBA

Team Beerbque is a proud member of the PNWBA. The Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association is a recognized affiliate of the world famous Kansas City BBQ Society. It was formed in 1991 by a group of Northwestern barbecuers. Over the years it has grown from 20 members to over 400 internationally.

Since its conception, the PNWBA has hosted BBQ contests from as far north as Whistler, British Columbia, south to Oregon and east to Calgary, Alberta. Included among these events are several state and provincial championships. The winners, also known as grand champions, of these BBQ contests are qualified to be invited to cook at national and world championship events. Among these are the American Royal, the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbecue and Memphis in May.

Puget Pod

Team Beerbque also supports the Puget Pod. The Puget Pod of Washington State is a member of the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) and is a nonprofit organization. Their mission is to promote the great American food, Chili, raise money for charities, meet new people, visit new places and have fun.
